Here at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Stamford, we foster spiritual growth both individually and in community. We invite people to walk together with us in the spirit of love to transform ourselves and the world around us.

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE

On Sunday mornings, our whole community gathers for reflection and inspiration in a warm and participatory atmosphere. We celebrate and affirm life and the life of the spirit in many ways — through music, meditation and prayers, readings, sharing and a message or sermon from our minister. The word “worship” means to lift up that which is “of worth.” It is in that spirit that we come together. We seek to enlarge our awareness of our world, in all its beauty and troubles, so that we can live with more compassion. We seek to enlarge our understanding of ourselves so that we can live more deeply and deliberately into the lives we are given.  Click here to learn more about our Sunday services.

CHILDREN ARE WELCOME HERE

During this time of physical distancing to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus, all children are invited to “Zoom to Worship” with their families at 10:00 on Sunday mornings!   Religious Education (“RE”) classes will meet this Fall on Sunday afternoons in our “RE Zoom Room”.  Please register your child here in order to receive weekly emails about RE as well as the link to the RE Zoom Room. Learn more about our program for children and youth here.

When we return to meeting in person, children are welcome to attend our Worship Service or to join in an age-appropriate religious education class. Often children and adults begin the worship together, and we “sing” the children out to their classes in the RE building across the parking lot. Parents are also welcome to attend the children’s program to help their children become comfortable in a new setting.

DRESS IS CASUAL

People dress casually at our Sunday Worship services and at most events, as well. Please dress in a manner that is comfortable for you and respectful of others.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO GREETING YOU

Expect to be greeted at the door on Sunday mornings. In addition to providing you with a worship program, greeters will welcome you and answer your questions. They will also invite you to fill out a green connection sheet so we can add you to our email list and stay in touch. After the service, please stay for refreshments, and visit our What’s Going On countertop to learn more about us and to sign up for our events and programs.
