Intentional Slowing

Beloveds,

Today (Wednesday) was my first day back in Stamford since our Pride Sign Dedication service in June. It has been a whirlwind month and a half, with travels to Portland, Oregon for General Assembly, followed by vacation and study leave time in July. I have enjoyed time with family and loved ones, travels to Boston, Maine, and the Adirondacks. It’s good to be back at UUC, and I am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday in person.

During my study leave, I took time to reflect through meditation, gardening, reading, and journaling. It is my hope that we can make spiritual centering- the art of slowing down and moving with intentionality – a collective practice in the year ahead. The Adult RE offerings (sign up below) are a chance to do this work together.

I will be in the pulpit on August 7th, and available to meet in person or on Zoom at other times this month. Our regular church year resumes September 11th with our Water Ceremony. Everyone is invited to bring water to that service from a place of meaning–be it a wild ocean, a quiet stream, a lively swimming pool, or a shimmering bay.

August is also a month of visioning and preparation in the world of UU congregational life. I invite you to join me in the community room between 12-1 for a lunchtime conversation on Wednesdays throughout the month. I will have food to share from my gardens! Let’s reconnect, check in on our lives and share our thoughts and ideas with one another.

Peace and blessings
Rev. Terri
