Soul Matters Sharing Circles at UUC Stamford

Deepening Connections Through Shared Exploration

At UUC Stamford, we embrace the journey of spiritual growth as a communal endeavor. Our Soul Matters Sharing Circles provide a structured yet intimate space for members to explore meaningful themes, engage in deep listening, and strengthen our bonds as a faith community.

🌟 What Are Soul Matters Sharing Circles?

Soul Matters Sharing Circles are small group ministries that delve into monthly themes, fostering both personal and communal spiritual development. These themes are consistent across participating Unitarian Universalist congregations, creating a shared focus that enhances our collective exploration.

Each month, participants receive a packet filled with resources designed to engage various aspects of the theme. These packets include spiritual exercises, questions for reflection, and recommended readings, all aimed at encouraging experiential engagement rather than solely analytical discussion.

🤝 Why Join a Soul Matters Sharing Circle?

  • Deepen Personal Reflection: Engage with themes through spiritual exercises that invite you to experience concepts firsthand, moving beyond intellectual analysis to lived understanding.

  • Foster Meaningful Connections: Participate in a circle of trust where deep listening and shared exploration create strong, supportive relationships within our congregation.

  • Integrate Faith and Daily Life: Discover ways to weave Unitarian Universalist principles into everyday experiences, enhancing your spiritual practice beyond Sunday services.

2024-2025 Themes:

This year’s overarching frame is The Practices of Our Faith. We’re using this frame to focus on how Unitarian Universalism is lived faith that inspires us to act out our values in the world. Or to put it another way, we’re diving into our long-loved UU commitment to “deeds, not creeds.” Our overarching frame is also a way for us to connect to our new UU core value of Liberating Love, with each of our monthly themes framed as a practice that helps us embody liberating love in our daily lives.

  • November:  Repair
  • December:  Presence
  • January:  Story
