UU Stamford is dedicated to working towards a future where all are fed. Three to four times a year, UUC members volunteer with Filling in the Blanks, a Norwalk-based nonprofit that provides weekend meals for children living with food insecurity throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties.  Within just a two-hour shift, our volunteers are able to package up to 1,000 bags of food that are delivered to local schools and discreetly distributed to students in need. Not only do we meet a substantial need in our community, but we have fun while doing so. The UUC also provides regular financial support and collects food donations for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The Food Bank, in turn, is able to support local homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and programs for both children and senior citizens.

Our Social Justice Team meets on the third Sunday of every month, after worship. To find out more about our work to feed the hungry and to get connected, contact Nora Geissert.
