Nurturing Our Shared Journey

We are pleased to announce that our Board and other lay leaders will be working together shortly to budget for the upcoming congregational year. Member pledges are an important part of that budget, and we are asked to make our commitment in March for the next budget cycle (which runs from July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026).

Pledges are a significant part of the income that sustains our community (along with rental income and other smaller sources).

Members were invited to pick up a personal, printed pledge invitation after services on Sunday, March 1st. For those not in attendance, the packets were mailed. Friends, please know that even if you are not a pledging member, a pledge of any amount is a welcome contribution toward helping us meet our pledge goal of 150K to support our shared journey. Updates as to our progress toward the goal will be reported each Sunday in March and in the weekly eBlast.

The Journey is Ours to Share – Along with a Commitment to Lend Support

In the spirit of commitment and connection, we invite every congregant and friend to reflect on your engagement with UUC and the gifts you share and receive — as well as your ability to lend financial support.

Consider that your pledges and donations sustain and grow the programs and services we offer:
*A full-time ordained minister
*Worship services and workshops open to the public
*Religious Education for our children and youth
*Small groups which support spiritual exploration
*Bold social justice initiatives
*Direct connections and service to our neighbors
*Our beautiful historic building in downtown Stamford*

Stewardship Campaign – Next Steps

If you have not received a pledge packet by mid-month, please reach out to Jen at [email protected] so you have the necessary documentation for pledging. Instructions for returning pledge cards are contained in the package. Cards can be mailed to: UUC Admin at 20 Forest Street, Stamford, CT 06901 or returned in the Sunday collection. The final day to submit your pledge (so the budgeting process can begin) is March 31st.

Wondering How Much to Pledge?

Your annual contribution is a personal decision to be made after reflecting on the significance of UUC in your life and your financial ability. We offer this adaption of the UUA’s Fair Share Giving Guide as a reference. Know this is just a guide.

Every situation is unique and every gift matters. Again, Friends are encouraged to pledge as well in order to support our shared journey.

Additional Questions?
Feel free to reach out to Kim Farber, Chair of this year’s Pledge Committee. Other committee members include Bob Nixon, Maria Lassman, John Umlauf, Craig McElroy, Bonnie Currie, Ellen Garcia, and Pam Bruno.

Nurturing Our Shared Journey Reflection

body of water surrounded by pine trees during daytime

Some of us are turning soil and deciding whether to stay
While others seeds are rooted now and connections guide the way
Some prefer the shade of old growth, and fear our traditions will perish
While others invite the winds of change and new perspectives to cherish
The invitation now is to come together, to give what you can from the heart
Our shared journey heals the world with love. Come forward and do your part.
