Below is a list of new items needed to give our residents when they move from shelter into their new-to-them apartment. Most do not have the necessary things (like what a typical college student may need):

 

Basket for a Resident (Bedroom) leaving Emergency Shelter (our greatest need):

• Laundry Basket
• Bed linen (for Twin, Full, Bed)
• Comforter (for Twin, Full Bed)
• Pillow
• Bath Towels (large), hand towel, wash cloth
• Shower caddy (starter toiletries: shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor)
• Waste basket
• Hand sanitizer bottle and cleaning wipes (like Clorox wipes)
• Toilet Paper
• Box of Tissues

 

Basket for a Unit (Kitchen/Bathroom):

• 13 Gallon Waste Basket for Kitchen
• Pots/pans
• Plates, bowls, mugs – 4 place settings
• Silverware – 4 place settings
• Sponges, dish soap, cleaning supplies (scrubbing bubbles)
• Cooking Utensils (spatula, large wooden spoon, whisk, tongs, can opener, potato peeler )
• Dish towels
• Shower curtain/hooks
• Toilet brush
• Swiffer, Clorox wipes
• Toilet Paper

 

Basket for the Pantry:

• Cup o’ soup (Raman Noodles)
• Canned Soup (With can opener)
• Individualized cereal boxes
• Individualized mac n cheese
• Box Spaghetti and Jar Spaghetti Sauce
• Granola Bar/Power Bar
• Gatorade
• Jar peanuts/ Trail Mix
• Bagged snacks (Doritos/Lays Chips)
• Orange Soda or Grape Soda or Ginger Ale
• Paper plates and paper cups
• Napkins
