There is a distinctive liberal religious voice expressed in Unitarian Universalist congregations. To be religious “liberally” means to be open, inclusive, engaged with the present time, evolving. Our distinctive voices expressed in:
- Tolerance, even celebration, of differences
- Curious, inquiring, and questioning approaches in how we seek understanding
- Engagement with society and the pressing issues of this world and this day, with concern to become more aware, more compassionate, and more just
- Commitment to non-discrimination by race, sexual or gender orientation, or religious belief and practice, we celebrate the value of multi-culturalism
- And we offer a welcome beyond dogma or creed to all truth seekers who want to engage freely and responsibly with others.
Unitarian Universalism is the only religious tradition that opens wide its doors with a commitment to build spiritual community that strives to promote all of these values.
