In-Person Sunday Services Update

Dear Ones,

Over the past few weeks, Covid rates in the Northeast have risen. Fairfield County is currently in the Red Zone according to Covid Act Now. This week I consulted with the Board as we considered how to respond to this risk with safety, accessibility, and commitment to congregational well-being at the forefront. Their decision to remain open for in-person worship with safety protocols and a Zoom-accessible option in place is grounded in these values.

In order to create a safer space, it is imperative that we adhere to the Together In Person (TIP) Team Guidelines. This includes masking and maintaining appropriate space between us while indoors. We will continue to refrain from singing together and sharing food and drink on Sunday mornings. I urge you to take personal cautions as well for both your own safety and the greater good. It is important that all who attend are doing everything they can to keep themselves and one another safe at this time. Masking and vaccinations have proven to be the most effective forms of protection.

This congregation also holds accessibility and inclusion as primary values. I encourage those who do not feel comfortable attending in-person services to attend by Zoom. We are currently looking at ways to improve the sound quality of our services so that the online experience is more accessible and enjoyable for all. If you are attending by Zoom, please do send me your feedback so that we can continue to improve. I am also open to other ways of gathering on Zoom outside of Sunday services this winter and welcome your ideas.

These times are unpredictable; we need one another more than ever. May we continue to hold one another in care and live into our responsibilities through these challenges, for the well-being of all.

In peace,
Rev. Terri
