From Rev. Terri

Thank you to all who contributed to the joyous and affirming dedication of our DEI Little Free Library on Forest Street! Thank you to the CT Undoing Racism folks- including UUC members- who introduced and oversaw the project; to the young people at DOMUS Kids who built it; to the Buildings and Grounds team who installed it; to the Religious Education children and all our congregants who filled it with books! And to everyone who participated in Sunday’s Dedication Ceremony- thank you.

The library is now available for all of us to both give and take books that celebrate our diversity, and move us towards greater justice. Check it out and spread the word!

As I shared on Sunday, Stories tell us who we are in all our diversity, all our wonder, all our complex humanity. We commit to sharing and listening to all our stories in community together. This project is particularly important in a time when words, stories, and human lives are being silenced. Together in our dedication ritual, we spoke words aloud that have recently been flagged by federal agencies “to avoid”, in fear of retaliation from our U.S. government. A full list of these words was recently published in the New York Times. We affirmed together that our words, our stories, and our lives matter.

Let us continue to lift up the diversity that we celebrate together, and the equity, inclusion, and justice we seek in these times.

I am available to meet with congregants in person on Saturday, March 22nd, Wednesday, March 26th, and Thursday, March 27th this upcoming week.

Lunch with the Minister will take place from 12:30-1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 26th.

For a private appointment, you can email me at [email protected] or set up an appointment on Calendly.
